In January 2020 I realized that the circle paintings I’d been envisioning reminded me of a view out of a porthole.
As if I was aboard a vessel off on an unknown adventure, and having heard “Land, ho!” I run to the window to take in the view. A new land to explore — a new adventure awaits. My imagination brings the vision to life, the streams pour in through the window, and grasses grow far past the edges of the frame. It calls and stretches and reaches for me, and I to it.
This collection has been added to throughout 2020, releasing first to my newsletter subscribers at the end of each month, and then here to the public. Now that we are all facing an unknown future, peering out at the world from behind our window, these pieces feel even more timely.
